Overview / Comments
Call For Offers for historic downtown office building. This building was constructed in 1907 by the Lincoln architects Fiske & Dieman. Then in 1936 the building was remodeled for Lincoln Liberty Life Insurance Co. which included the addition of a 6th story with windowless, Art Deco limestone facades. In 1987 a federally certified historic rehabilitation was undertaken, at which time the building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places. At this time Lincoln Electric Systems was a tenant in the building but later, in 1993, purchased the building. As a registered building on the National Register of Historic Places the LES building is eligible for Nebraska tax incentives.
The LES property is located within the long-established Lincoln Center Redevelopment Area. The surrounding area was declared blighted and substandard in 1985 which facilitated many redevelopment projects in this area.
